What is a Dashpivot Visitor?

Learn what a Dashpivot Visitor is, what permissions they have, and how subcontractors and external parties can access your workspace for free on Pro plans and above.

Written by Sam

A Dashpivot Visitor is a user type designed for external users who need limited access into a Dashpivot workspace. It allows organisations to provide controlled access to people outside their organisation.

Are Dashpivot Visitors free?

Yes — on Pro, Premium, and Platinum plans, Dashpivot Visitors are free and unlimited. They do not consume paid licences, so adding subcontractors, clients, consultants, or auditors as Visitors does not increase your subscription cost.

💡 This makes Visitor access the right choice for external parties who need access to your workspace but are not part of your internal team — including subcontractors who may not yet be on site.

What Dashpivot Visitors can do

Dashpivot Visitors can be added to a workspace if their email domain has been approved for visitor access. This access type is intended for external parties such as clients, consultants, auditors, or subcontractor managers.

To be added as a Dashpivot Visitor:

  • The email address must be a valid work email address (public email domains such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook are not supported)

  • The email domain must not match the organisation’s internal company domain

When these permissions are required

Dashpivot Visitor access is required when someone outside the organisation needs access to a workspace and meets the configured visitor domain requirements.

❗ Important: At least one external email domain must be defined in the workspace settings to add Dashpivot Visitors. This allows Dashpivot to distinguish between internal and external users. Domain settings can be viewed via Home Folder > Settings > Workspace Settings > General, but changes can only be made by contacting Dashpivot support via Live Chat.
