How to Fill an Induction Using Storm AI Form Fill in Dashpivot

Learn how to use Storm AI Form Fill to record and draft induction forms from voice recordings, typed notes, and attached documents.

Written by Nina Yang

Induction forms capture worker details, site hazard acknowledgements, and sign-on — often with a queue of people waiting. Storm lets you record the induction as it happens and drafts the form for you, so you spend less time writing and more time getting workers on site safely.

Just record the session, and Storm fills in the details — ready for you to review and sign off.

What Storm Can Do With Inductions

  • Record the induction session and draft the form automatically — no manual write-up required

  • Read attached SWMS or site hazard documents and use them as context when filling the form

  • Match inductee names to workspace users in People fields automatically on Dashpivot Web

  • Reference a previous induction in the same folder to carry over recurring site hazard details

  • Handle multilingual workers — Storm detects spoken language and outputs in the template's destination language

Before You Start

  • AI Form Fill must be enabled for your workspace.

  • For best results, record in a location with minimal background noise.

  • Have any relevant SWMS or site hazard documents ready — you can attach them to the canvas for Storm to reference.

How to Do It

📱 On Dashpivot Mobile

  1. Open your induction form in Dashpivot Mobile.

  2. Tap the Storm button at the bottom of the form to open the AI Form Fill canvas.

  3. Tap the microphone and record the induction — include the inductee's name, trade, contractor, and any key acknowledgements covered.

For example: "John Smith, electrician, ABC Electrical Services, starting today. Site hazards covered — working at heights and electrical isolation procedures acknowledged."

  4. Optionally, attach relevant SWMS or site hazard documents using the paperclip icon.

  5. Tap the green arrow to submit.

  6. Review the draft Storm generates, make any corrections, and submit as normal.

💻 On Dashpivot Web

  1. Open your induction form in Dashpivot.

  2. In the Storm AI Form Fill canvas at the bottom of the form, record your induction audio or type the inductee details.

  3. Attach any relevant documents using the paperclip icon.

  4. Click Fill ↑.

  5. Review the draft, make any corrections, and save or submit manually.

✏️ Good to Know

  • Include trade, contractor, and start date in your recording. The more specific you are, the less you'll need to correct after.

  • Storm matches names to workspace users in People fields. If a name can't be matched, Storm leaves the field blank for manual review rather than guessing. People field matching is available on Dashpivot Web only.

  • Reference a previous induction. Mention it in your directive — for example, "same site hazards as last Monday's induction" — and Storm will draw on that form's content. Both forms must be in the same Dashpivot folder.

  • Multilingual workers? Storm detects the spoken language and outputs in the template's destination language — useful for mixed-language crews.

  • Signature and sign-off fields still require manual completion. Storm does not sign forms or complete signature fields on anyone's behalf.

  • Storm drafts, you decide. Storm never submits forms on your behalf — you always review before saving or submitting.

FAQs

Can Storm fill inductions for multiple workers from a single recording?
Storm is designed to fill one form at a time. For multiple inductees, run AI Form Fill separately for each induction record.

Can Storm reference a previous induction record for the same worker?
If a previous induction form exists in the same Dashpivot folder, you can reference it in your directive — for example, "same worker as the induction from last Monday." Storm will draw on that form's content to help fill the current one.

Can Storm fill inductions for multilingual workers?
Yes. Storm detects the spoken language in voice input and outputs content in the template's destination language. Results may vary depending on recording quality and terminology.

Will Storm complete the signature fields?
No. Signature fields require manual input. Storm fills text, dropdown, and selection fields only.
