How to Fill a Daily Report Using Storm AI Form Fill in Dashpivot

Learn how to use Storm AI Form Fill to fill your daily report hands free — record your voice on site, add your photos, and let Storm populate the form for you.

Written by Nina Yang

Writing up a daily report at the end of a shift means recalling everything that happened — who was on site, what work was done, any issues or delays. Storm lets you capture all of that as it happens and do the write-up hands free.

Record a voice note describing the day's activities, add photos taken on site, and Storm drafts the report for you — ready to review and submit.

What Storm Can Do With Daily Reports

  • Draft the full report from a voice recording captured on site — no manual write-up required

  • Read site photos and map them to the relevant sections of the report automatically

  • Group output by trade or area based on how you structure your dictation

  • Run multiple sessions — add updates later in the shift without overwriting earlier entries

  • Handle multilingual crews — Storm detects spoken language and outputs in the template's destination language

  • Reference previously completed forms in the same folder — for example, yesterday's diary — to carry over recurring crew or equipment details

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have the Dashpivot Mobile app installed and updated to the latest version (DPM 26.10 or later) to add photos directly from the Dashpivot camera to the AI Form Fill canvas.

  • AI Form Fill must be enabled for your workspace.

How to Do It

📱 On Dashpivot Mobile

  1. Open your daily report form in Dashpivot Mobile.

  2. Tap the Storm button at the bottom of the form to open the AI Form Fill canvas.

  3. Tap the microphone and speak naturally — describe what happened on site today:

    • Workers on site, start and finish times

    • Work completed, quantities, locations

    • Plant and equipment used

    • Any issues, delays, or incidents

  4. Tap the camera icon to add photos taken on site today from the Dashpivot camera.

  5. Tap the green arrow to submit.

  6. Review the draft Storm generates, make any corrections, and submit as normal.

💻 On Dashpivot Web

  1. Open your daily report form in Dashpivot.

  2. In the Storm AI Form Fill canvas at the bottom of the form, record a voice note or type your notes describing the day's activities.

  3. Upload any site photos to the canvas.

  4. Click Fill ↑.

  5. Review the draft, make any corrections, and save or submit manually.

✏️ Good to Know

  • Speak in groups. Grouping your dictation produces grouped output — "concreters... steel fixers" yields trade-headed entries; "Area A... Area B" yields area-headed sections.

  • Use exact times. "Started at 07:30, finished at 16:00" is more reliable than "around 7."

  • Run multiple sessions. If something happens later in the day, open Storm again and add more — Storm appends without overwriting what's already there.

  • Reference yesterday's diary. Mention a past form in your directive — for example, "same crew as yesterday's diary" — and Storm will pull from that record to help fill recurring details. Storm cites which form it referenced.

  • Storm drafts, you decide. Storm never submits forms on your behalf — you always review before saving or submitting.

FAQs

Can I add photos to my daily report with Storm?
Yes. On Dashpivot Mobile (DPM 26.10 or later), you can add photos taken from the Dashpivot camera directly to the AI Form Fill canvas. Storm reads the photos alongside your voice note and routes them to the relevant sections of the form.

Can I run Storm multiple times on the same daily report?
Yes. You can run AI Form Fill multiple times before saving — Storm appends new information without overwriting what's already there. This is useful if something happens later in the shift that you want to add.

Can Storm reference a previous daily report for recurring crew or equipment details?

Yes. Mention the form in your directive — for example, "same crew as yesterday's diary." Storm will draw on that form's content to help fill recurring fields, and will cite which form it referenced. Both forms must be in the same Dashpivot folder.

Can Storm fill daily reports for multilingual crews?
Yes. Storm detects the spoken language in voice input and outputs content in the template's destination language. Results may vary depending on recording quality and terminology.

Will Storm submit my daily report automatically?
No. Storm drafts the form for you to review — you always save or submit manually.
