Safety observation forms require clear records of what was observed, who is responsible, and what corrective action is needed — captured in the moment, on site. Storm lets you record your observations, attach photos, and drafts the form for you.
Just describe what you see, and Storm fills the safety observation — ready for you to review and close out.
What Storm Can Do With Safety Observations
Draft observation entries from a voice recording captured on site — no manual write-up required
Capture task and activity headers from the form and map observations to the correct section
Extract observation type, severity, responsible party, and corrective action from voice or typed input
Attach photos of hazards or unsafe conditions for Storm to route to the correct observation row
Handle multilingual crews — Storm detects spoken language and outputs in the template's destination language
Before You Start
AI Form Fill must be enabled for your workspace.
Capture your observations on site first — voice notes and photos work best as inputs.
Name the responsible party clearly in your recording for Storm to populate that field accurately.
How to Do It
📱 On Dashpivot or Sitemate Mobile
Open your safety observation form in Dashpivot Mobile or Sitemate Mobile.
Tap the Storm button at the bottom of the form to open the AI Form Fill canvas.
Tap the microphone and describe your observation — include the task or activity, what was observed, severity, and who is responsible.
For example: "Excavation task — worker observed not wearing PPE on level 2. High severity. Responsible: site supervisor. Corrective action: issue PPE and conduct toolbox talk."Attach photos of the hazard or condition using the photo icon.
Tap the green arrow to submit.
Review the draft Storm generates, make any corrections, and submit as normal.
💻 On Dashpivot Web
Open your safety observation form in Dashpivot.
In the Storm AI Form Fill canvas at the bottom of the form, type or record your observation.
Attach photos using the paperclip icon if applicable.
Click Fill ↑.
Review the draft, make any corrections, and save or submit manually.
✏️ Good to Know
Name the task or activity in your recording. Storm reads task and activity headers on safety observation forms and maps your observations to the correct section. Stating the task upfront — for example, "Excavation task" or "Electrical activity" — helps Storm route your input accurately.
Be specific about severity and responsible party. Saying "high severity, responsible: John Smith, site supervisor" gives Storm what it needs to populate the right fields.
Storm drafts, you decide. Storm never submits forms on your behalf — you always review before saving or submitting.
Multilingual crews? Storm detects the spoken language and outputs in the template's destination language.
FAQs
Can Storm capture multiple observations in a single pass?
Yes. Describe each observation in your voice note or typed directive and Storm creates a separate entry per item.
Can Storm identify who is responsible from a voice recording?
Yes — if you name the responsible party clearly in your recording. Storm extracts the name and maps it to the responsible party field. For best results, state the full name or role explicitly.
Will Storm submit my safety observation automatically?
No. Storm drafts the form for you to review — you always save or submit manually.
Can Storm fill safety observation forms for multilingual crews?
Yes. Storm detects the spoken language in voice input and outputs content in the template's destination language. Results may vary depending on recording quality and terminology.
