How to Bulk Reopen Issues on Gearbelt

Learn how to reopen multiple closed issues at once using the bulk status dialog in the Gearbelt Issues register.

Written by Nina Yang

If you need to reopen multiple closed issues at once, you can use the bulk status dialog in the Issues register to set them back to Open in a single action — without having to update each issue individually.

Prerequisites

  • Plan: All Plan Types

  • Permission: Gearbelt Contributor

  • Device Type: Computer

  • Subscription: Gearbelt

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to the Issues section under Management in the left-hand menu.

  2. Switch the Status filter to Closed to show closed issues.

  3. Select the checkboxes next to the issues you want to reopen.

  4. Click the Status button in the bulk action toolbar that appears at the top of the register.

  5. Select Open from the bulk status dialog.

  6. Click Save. The selected issues are reopened and their status is updated to Open.

Notes

  • Each reopened issue records an Issue Reopened entry on its activity timeline, so there is a full audit trail of the change.

  • The Completed date and Completed by fields are preserved when an issue is reopened — they are not cleared.

  • The Save button in the bulk status dialog is disabled until a status is selected. The selection resets when the dialog is closed without saving.

  • A second repair record cannot be created on a reopened issue.
