Gearbelt enables teams to create issue reports from form submissions for review and repair scheduling. Updating the status of an issue helps track whether it is still active or has been resolved. This guide explains how issue statuses are updated in Gearbelt using the required repair form process.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: All Plan Types
Permission: Gearbelt Contributor
Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation
Device Type: computer
Subscription: Gearbelt
Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate to the Issues section.
Click on the issue record you want to update.
Complete the required repair form linked to the issue.
Once the repair form is submitted, the issue status will automatically update to Closed.
Click the Save button in the bottom right corner of the pane.
Notes
Issue records have two available statuses: Open and Closed.
Closing an issue requires submitting a repair form and cannot be done through a direct status change.
Closed issues can be reopened at any time by directly editing the Status field on web or Gearbelt Mobile Web (GBMW).
Reopening a closed issue retains the existing repair record and Completed fields unchanged.
A second repair record cannot be created on a reopened issue.
The Days Open column in the Issue register now accurately reflects issues open for more than a month. Previously, this column could show a negative number or undercount for long-running issues.
If an issue does not require action, you can use the archive option as an alternative instead of closing it.
