As your team records issues during inspections, Gearbelt builds a register of issues across your assets. This register allows you to view issue details such as status, severity, location, and other key information. Closing out issues once they are resolved helps keep the register accurate and ensures your team stays on top of maintenance tasks.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: All Plan Types
Permission: Gearbelt Contributor
Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation
Device Type: computer
Subscription: Gearbelt
Step-by-Step Instructions
Go to the Issues section under Management in the left-hand menu.
Select the issue you want to action. You can switch the Status filter to Open to show all open issues.
A panel will open on the right-hand side showing all the details associated with the selected issue.
Complete the required repair form linked to the issue (each issue must have its own repair form to be closed).
Once the repair form is completed, the issue status will automatically switch to Closed.
Select Save in the top right corner of the pane.
To retrieve your newly closed issue, switch the Status filter to Closed.
View the closed issue in the list.
Notes
Each issue follows a 1:1 close-out model, meaning a separate repair form must be completed for every issue before it can be closed.
Bulk closing or multi-issue selection is not supported in this workflow. However, you can bulk archive.
If an issue does not require action, you can use the archive option as an alternative instead of closing it.
You can use register filters, sorting, and grouping options to control how issues appear. The search bar allows you to find specific issues using keywords such as asset name, reference, issue ID, work order ID, location, or description.
