Storm's AI Form Fill feature can read weather data already captured in a Dashpivot form and use it as context when generating draft responses. This means weather conditions — including temperature, humidity, rainfall, and wind — are automatically available to Storm during form fill processing, removing the need to manually describe site conditions in your voice recording or typed notes.
This is particularly useful for site diaries, daily reports, pre-start checklists, shift reports, and any form where weather conditions are part of the record.
Prerequisites

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open a Form With a Weather Field
Open a form in Dashpivot Mobile or Sitemate Mobile that includes a Weather Field.
If your template does not have a Weather Field, contact your Org Controller or template administrator to add one.
Step 2: Capture Weather Data
Tap the Weather Field in the form. The field automatically fetches current weather conditions for your location using your device's GPS.
Captured data includes:
Conditions — visual icon and description (e.g. Clear, Cloudy, Rain)
Temperature — current temperature
Feels Like — perceived temperature
Humidity — percentage value (e.g. 60%)
Wind — speed and direction
Rainfall — accumulated precipitation since the previous reading
Location label, timestamp, and GPS coordinates
Weather readings are recorded at fixed 2-hour intervals throughout the day: 6 AM, 8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, and 6 PM. You can capture multiple readings across a shift to track changing conditions.
Step 3: Open Storm's AI Form Fill
Once weather data has been captured in the form, open the AI Form Fill canvas by tapping the Storm button.
Step 4: Add Your Other Inputs
Add your voice recording, photos, or typed notes as usual. You do not need to describe the weather conditions in your recording — Storm reads the weather data already captured in the form automatically.
Step 5: Tap Fill
Tap Fill. Storm processes all inputs together — including the captured weather data — and generates draft responses for supported fields.
Step 6: Review and Save
Review all generated outputs, edit any fields if needed, complete any remaining required fields, and save or submit the form manually.
Notes
Storm reads weather data that is already present in the active form. It does not automatically capture weather on its own — the weather field must be populated first before running AI Form Fill.
If the Exclude from Form Fill setting is enabled on the Weather Field in the template editor, Storm will not read that field's data during AI Form Fill processing. Contact your Org Controller if you need this setting adjusted.
Weather capture requires an active internet connection. Offline weather capture is not supported in V1.
Weather data is sourced from the OpenWeather API based on device GPS location. Accuracy may vary for remote or non-geographic site locations.
Multiple weather readings captured throughout the day are all available to Storm as context during processing.
Storm uses weather data to improve the accuracy of generated responses — for example, referencing conditions in site diary summaries or flagging weather-related delays. It does not override or replace the weather field values themselves.
The Weather Field supports up to 10 fields per template.
Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Does Storm capture weather automatically?
No. Storm reads weather data that has already been captured in the form's Weather Field. You need to tap the Weather Field and capture a reading before running AI Form Fill — Storm does not fetch weather on its own.
Does the Weather Field work offline?
No. Weather capture requires an active internet connection. Offline weather capture is not supported in the current version. You can still record voice notes, add photos, and type notes offline — these will queue and process once connectivity is restored.
Which plans include the Weather Field?
The Weather Field is available on all plan types. Standard plans include temperature, feels like, humidity, rainfall, and wind. UV index, severe weather warnings, and weather summary are available on Pro and above.
Can I capture weather more than once on the same form?
Yes. You can capture multiple readings throughout the day — for example at the start, middle, and end of a shift. All readings are available to Storm as context during AI Form Fill processing.
What if my site location is remote or not geographically accurate?
The Weather Field uses your device's GPS to fetch weather from the OpenWeather API. Accuracy may vary for remote or non-geographic site locations. If conditions look incorrect, verify your device location settings are enabled and accurate.
Do I need to mention weather in my voice recording?
No. If weather data has already been captured in the Weather Field, Storm reads it automatically. You do not need to describe conditions in your recording.
Does the weather data update automatically throughout the day?
No — the Weather Field captures a snapshot at the exact moment you tap "Capture Weather." It does not update automatically as the day progresses.
Past/current hours— actual observed conditions at the time of capture
Future hours— forecast conditions as predicted at that moment in time, not live-updating
If you want more accurate readings later in the day, simply tap the Weather Field again to capture another reading (it's designed to support multiple readings across a shift).
