What is the Lite Workspace?

Learn what the Lite Workspace includes, how it differs from the full Dashpivot workspace, and how Quick Start helps you get started faster.

Written by Nina Yang

When you sign up for a Dashpivot self-serve trial, you start in the Lite Workspace — a simplified version of Dashpivot designed to help you get productive quickly.

Instead of starting with an empty workspace, the Lite Workspace includes a ready-to-use folder with starter content already set up. This lets you explore Dashpivot’s core features from the moment you log in.

The Lite Workspace is intentionally simplified

Dashpivot’s full workspace is designed for teams managing work across multiple projects, folders, and sites. To make onboarding easier, the Lite Workspace hides more advanced features and focuses on the tools most users need to get started.

The Lite Workspace is a guided starting point — not a separate product.

What’s included in the Lite Workspace

  • One starter folder — pre-named and ready to use

  • Quick Start home page — shortcuts to key Dashpivot features

  • AI Templates — generate forms and checklists from a plain-language prompt

  • AI Form Fill — auto-populate forms from photos, documents, or voice input

  • Core modules — forms, activity feed, and photos

What’s not available yet

Some features from the full Dashpivot workspace are not shown in Lite Workspace mode, including:

  • Multiple folders or projects

  • Cross-folder and cross-team navigation

  • Cross-project reporting and analytics

  • Advanced form builder controls

  • Full actions and photo selection modules

These features become available when you switch to the full workspace.

Your existing Lite Workspace data stays unchanged.

Note: If something looks different from a Dashpivot guide or video, it may be showing the full workspace experience. Features like the folder sidebar or project-level analytics only appear after switching.

What is the Quick Start home page?

The Lite Workspace opens on a Quick Start home page instead of the standard Dashpivot home page. Quick Start is designed to help you explore Dashpivot's highest-value features faster.

From Quick Start, you can:

  • Create templates using AI Templates

  • Fill forms automatically with AI Form Fill

  • Invite your team to collaborate

  • Create Actions and Lists

Recent Templates

The Recent Templates section on the Quick Start home page surfaces templates you have recently worked on, so you can quickly pick up where you left off.

There are two distinct interactions in this section:

  • Click the template name — opens the template in a sidebar so you can preview or review its contents without leaving the Quick Start home page.

  • Click Edit — opens the template editor so you can make changes to the template.

These are separate actions with different outcomes. Click the template name to browse the template first, then click Edit when you are ready to make changes.

Note: The Quick Start page remains available after switching to the full workspace, though some actions shown in Lite mode — such as adding a form — will no longer appear, as those require working within a Team.
