Date fields in Gearbelt templates allow users to capture date and time information consistently across forms. These fields are timezone-aware, ensuring that the same date value is displayed for all users regardless of their location. This is useful for teams working across different regions who need consistent and reliable date tracking in their forms.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: All Plan Types
Permission: Gearbelt Contributor
Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation
Device Type: Computer/Browser
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the Gearbelt form builder (Inspection Forms, Repair Forms, Schedule Forms)
Locate the Date-Timezone Aware fields in Gearbelt and choose between Single date time or Single date.
You can edit the following:
Click the field to update the label
For Single date time, check "Required" or check "Use as form submission date"
For Single date, check "Required"
Notes
Enabling "Use as form submission date" sets the selected field as the official submission date
For schedule forms, this setting can also be used to backdate past services when applied to a Single date time field. This allows you to enter previous service dates so schedules are aligned to the correct cycle.
This setup is required for historical services to appear correctly in the Schedule Due tracker
