How to Record Issues via the Gearbelt Operator App

Learn how to record issues for assets using the Gearbelt Operator Web App in real time

The Gearbelt Operator App allows users to record and manage asset issues directly from a mobile device while on-site. By scanning the QR code attached to an asset, operators can quickly access asset information and log new issues in real time. This process helps ensure issues are captured at the source and keeps asset issue records accurate and up to date within Gearbelt.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: All Plan Types

  • Permission: Gearbelt Contributor

  • Skills Required: QR scanning

  • Device Type: Mobile Device

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Scan the asset QR code using your mobile device.

  2. When directed to the logo page, select Press here to continue to Gearbelt.

  3. Once the asset page opens in the Gearbelt Operator App, tap the + button.

  4. Select Create issue.

  5. Enter the required issue details, including Title, Severity, Description, and Photo. For Severity, note that no value is pre-selected — you must choose a severity level before you can save the issue.

  6. Tap Save to record the issue.

Notes

  • The issue will be recorded against the asset and can be accessed from the Issues section.

  • Issues are organised by status: Open and Closed.

  • Selecting an issue allows you to view all associated issue details.
