Notes

  • The Activity tab displays a full, timestamped history of all actions recorded against the asset.

  • Entries include completed inspections, repairs, reported issues, schedule checks, and schedule check closures.

  • Each entry is timestamped to help track asset usage and maintenance over time.

  • Activity entries are read-only — to edit a submitted record, see [How to Edit a Submitted Record in Gearbelt](link to new article once published).

  • When a schedule check is closed, a Schedule Check Closed action is recorded in the activity history. This entry shows who closed the check.

  • A schedule check can be closed in two ways: manually — a user closes the check directly; or via form record submission — when a schedule form record is submitted against the check, Gearbelt logs both the form record submission and the check closure as two separate entries in the activity history.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find the activity history for an asset in Gearbelt?
The activity history for an asset is found in the Activity tab. You can access it by opening the asset from the Assets section on the Gearbelt desktop web app or Gearbelt Mobile Web, or by scanning the asset QR code on a mobile device.

What does the asset activity history show in Gearbelt?
The Activity tab shows a full, timestamped record of everything recorded against the asset — including completed inspections, repairs, reported issues, schedule checks, and schedule check closures.

What is a "Schedule Check Closed" entry in the activity history?
A Schedule Check Closed entry is recorded whenever a schedule check is closed against an asset. It shows who closed the check and when. A check can be closed manually by a user, or automatically when a schedule form record is submitted — if submitted via form, both the record submission and the check closure appear as separate entries in the activity history.

Can I edit an activity entry from the Activity tab?
No. Activity entries are read-only in the Activity tab. To update a submitted inspection record, repair record, or schedule check record, open the record directly and make your changes there. See How to Edit a Submitted Record in Gearbelt for more detail.
