Deployment rules in Gearbelt allow you to automatically assign the correct form templates to specific assets based on defined criteria. You can create rules using asset type, category, manufacturer, model, tag, or location. This ensures the right inspection, repair, and schedule forms are always linked to the correct assets, streamlining operations and improving consistency across your fleet and equipment.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: All Plan Types

  • Permission: Gearbelt Contributor

  • Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation

  • Device Type: computer

  • Subscription: Gearbelt

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Access the Deployment section under the Admin section in the left-hand side navigation menu.

  2. Select Create Rule.

  3. Name your Deployment Rule.

  4. Modify the Rule Settings. You can set the conditions as in the dropdown.

    Set the rule according to:

    • Asset ID

    • Asset Tag

    • Asset Category

    • Asset Manufacturer

    • Asset Model

    • Asset Location

  5. To add multiple conditions, select Add Condition.

  6. Select which form template will be used for Inspection Forms, Repair Forms, and Schedule.

  7. Click Save. Any asset that meets the defined conditions will automatically have the assigned form templates when an operator creates a new form.
