How to Archive an Asset on Gearbelt

Archiving an asset in Gearbelt helps keep your workspace organised by removing outdated or unused assets from your active list without permanently deleting them. This ensures that only relevant and active assets remain visible, while still allowing you to restore archived assets if required. This guide explains how to archive single, multiple, or all assets, and how to restore them.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: All Plan Types

  • Permission: Gearbelt Contributor

  • Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation

  • Device Type: computer

  • Subscription: Gearbelt

Step-by-Step Instructions

Archive one or multiple assets

  1. Go to the Assets section.

  2. Select the asset(s) you want to archive using the checkboxes on the left-hand side.

  3. Click Archive Selected. The selected asset(s) will be moved to the Archived list.

Archive an individual asset

  1. Open the asset you want to archive.

  2. You will be taken to the Asset Overview page.

  3. Click Archive in the bottom right corner.

  4. The asset will now appear in the Archived section.

Bulk archive all assets

  1. Go to the Assets section.

  2. Click the checkbox in the top-left corner of the register, beside the Asset column.

  3. Click Archive Selected. All assets will be moved to the Archived list.

Restore archived assets

  1. Go to the Archived section.

  2. Select the asset(s) you want to restore.

  3. Click Restore Selected. The asset(s) will return to your active assets list.
