Analytics source settings in Dashpivot Web control which templates, folders, and data sources are used in analytics dashboards. Setting up analytics sources ensures dashboards report on the correct forms and folders, helping teams analyse relevant data accurately. Analytics source settings are configured when creating or editing dashboards on Dashpivot Web.

Video Walkthrough

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Standard

  • Permission: Org Controller or Project Controller

  • Skills Required: Dashpivot

  • Device Type: Computer

  • Subscription: Dashpivot

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the folder where the dashboard is set up, such as the Home Folder or a Team Folder.

  2. Click the Analytics tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Click the relevant Dashboard.

  4. Select Source settings in the top right corner.

    For Frequency & Ratio Charts:

    1. Select the Template

      • This will be the template you would like to draw the data from.

    For Quantity Charts:

    1. Select the Template

      • This will be the template you would like to draw the data from.

      • Note: For Quantity Charts, only templates with pre-filled/default tables including number/formula fields, will be visible on this dropdown.

    2. Select the Field

      • This selects the specific table, from within the chosen template, that you would like to analyse.

    3. Select the Column/Cell

      • This will display data from that chosen Column/Cell from within the table.

Note: You can change the selected source/template later on, if you need. This will keep any other settings/filters you have already configured (for Quantity Charts, you would just need to reconfigure the Field/Column/Cell)

Notes and Tips

  • Analytics source settings determine which form data appears in dashboards.

  • Multiple templates and folders can be included in a single dashboard.

  • Updating source settings changes the data displayed across all charts in the dashboard.
