How automatic form numbering works

Dashpivot automatically assigns a form number after a form is saved. The counter starts at 1 and increases consecutively (1, 2, 3, and so on).

You can choose whether the form counter is visible on your forms by toggling the Form counter on or off in the Template Editor.

When creating a form, a temporary unique path with a β€œ#” symbol is displayed. After you click Save, the final form counter number appears on the form.

Form counter structure

The form counter is not global. It is unique to each:

  • Template

  • Team folder

This means the counter will start at 1 within each team folder.

The full form name remains unique because it includes:

  • Company name

  • Project folder name

  • Team folder name

  • Template ID

  • Counter number (#)

Tips

  • You can display the form counter on the form thumbnail.

  • You can show the form counter as a column in the Register view by editing the displayed columns.

  • To reset the form counter, you must create a new template. It cannot be reset within an existing template.
