How template versioning works
Template versioning starts at Version 1 when you first create a template.
Each time you edit and save changes to a template, the version number automatically increases (Version 2, 3, 4, and so on).
Version numbers update when you make changes such as:
Adding or removing fields
Renaming or rearranging fields
Updating template settings
Changing workflow columns
Downloaded PDFs
When you download a form as a PDF, the template version number appears in the header.
This helps you track which version was used to generate the PDF. Any future changes made to the template in Dashpivot will not update previously downloaded PDFs.
Template Versioning - System Update
A system update improved the notification logic within templates, which also updates template versioning. This change was introduced in preparation for the Actions feature.
View Template History
You can view all historical changes to a template in the Template History, where each saved version is recorded and can be compared.
To access Template History:
Navigate to the Home folder (or the Team folder if the template was created there).
Select your template and click Edit Template
Click the hamburger menu next to the three dots in the top-right corner
A panel will open on the right-hand side showing every saved version of the template
Click Edited {version number} under the editor’s name to compare that version with the previous one
Note:
Template History cannot currently be exported.
