Gearbelt Mobile Web (GBMW) allows workshop teams to access work orders, issues, schedule checks, and forms directly from a mobile browser. Because GBMW runs in a web browser rather than a downloaded application, team members first receive the access link from a workspace email invite. Saving this link to your mobile device home screen creates a shortcut, making it faster and easier to open Gearbelt Mobile Web whenever you need it.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

Device Type: Smartphone
Subscription: Gearbelt
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the email invite from Gearbelt on your phone and select the link to open Gearbelt Mobile Web in your browser.
iOS – Safari
Select the Share icon.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Name the shortcut (for example, Gearbelt).
Select Add to complete.
The shortcut will appear in your Apps section and provide direct access to Gearbelt Mobile Web.
iOS – Chrome
Select the Share icon in the right corner of the URL bar.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Name the shortcut if required.
Select Add to create the shortcut.
iOS – Firefox
Select the Share icon in the right corner of the URL bar.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Name your shortcut and select Add. If you work with multiple companies, add the company name to distinguish the shortcuts.
Android – Chrome
Select the three dots in the top right corner.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Name your shortcut and select Add. If you work with multiple companies, add the company name to distinguish the shortcuts.
Confirm by selecting Add to Home Screen.
The shortcut will be added to your home screen. You can leave it there or move it to an app folder.
Android – Firefox
Select the three dots in the top right corner.
Select Add to Home Screen.
Name your shortcut and select Add. If you work with multiple companies, add the company name to distinguish the shortcuts.
Confirm by selecting Add to Home Screen.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to do this every time I want to open Gearbelt Mobile Web?
No. Once you've saved the shortcut to your home screen, just tap it to open Gearbelt Mobile Web directly — no need to find the email invite again.
What if I can't find the Add to Home Screen option?
Make sure you're using a supported browser (Safari, Chrome, or Firefox). Some browsers may show this option under a different menu — look for a Share icon or the three dots menu in your browser's toolbar.
I work across multiple Gearbelt workspaces. Can I save multiple shortcuts?
Yes. Save a separate shortcut for each workspace link. When naming them, add the company or workspace name to tell them apart.
Will the shortcut stop working if my invite link expires?
The shortcut links to the Gearbelt Mobile Web login screen, not the invite itself — so it will keep working as long as you have an active Gearbelt contributor account.
