In Gearbelt, you can create and manage asset-related documents in two ways: through the Documents module or directly from an asset in the Assets module. Both methods allow you to upload files, assign document types, and set expiry dates to keep asset documentation organised and up to date.

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

Create Documents Using the Documents Module
Log in to Gearbelt.
Go to Documents.
Click the green Create Document button in the top-left corner.
In the Create Document drawer, select the Asset you want to attach the document to.
Select the Document Type.
If the required document type is not listed, select Other.
Select the Expiry Date.
Click Add Document to attach the document file.
Click Save.
You can view all uploaded documents for each asset in the Documents module.
Create Documents Using the Assets Module
Log in to Gearbelt.
Go to Assets.
Select an existing asset from the list.
If the asset does not exist, create a new asset.
In the asset menu, go to Documents.
The Create Document drawer opens for the selected asset.
Select the Document Type.
If the required document type is not listed, select Other.
Select the Expiry Date.
Click Add Document to attach the document file.
Click Save.
