How to Create and Edit a Schedule on Gearbelt

A Schedule in Gearbelt defines how often an inspection or maintenance task should be completed for an asset. Creating a Schedule helps ensure assets are maintained consistently and on time. This feature is used by teams managing asset inspections or maintenance workflows in Gearbelt. This guide explains how to create a new Schedule and how to edit an existing Schedule in Gearbelt.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Pro

  • Permission: Gearbelt Contributor

  • Skills Required: Gearbelt Navigation

  • Device Type: Computer/Browser

  • Subscription: Gearbelt

Step-by-Step Instructions

Create a Schedule

  1. Go to Management in the left-hand navigation menu and select Schedules.

  2. Select the Schedules tab to view existing schedules.

  3. Click Create Schedule.

  4. Enter a name for the schedule.

  5. Update the Triggers section and configure the interval unit type:

    • Crawling: The next check is generated based on when the previous check was completed, not a fixed calendar date.

    • Fixed: Repeats on a set calendar cadence. The next check is generated based on the original schedule dates, regardless of when the previous check was completed.

  6. Update the Schedule Checks section by updating the label and selecting a schedule form.

  7. Update the Schedule Cycle section to control the order of the checks.

  8. Review the schedule summary preview displayed on the right-hand side of the form.

  9. Click Save.

Edit a Schedule

  1. Go to Management in the left-hand navigation menu and select Schedules.

  2. Select the Schedules tab to view the schedule plan.

  3. Locate the schedule you want to edit.

  4. Either select the checkbox and click Edit Schedule, or click directly on the schedule.

  5. Update the Schedule Triggers section and configure the interval unit type.

  6. Update the Schedule Checks section by updating the label and selecting a schedule form.

  7. Update the Schedule Cycle section to control the order of the checks.

  8. Click Save.
