Dashpivot Web supports including PDF documents in your templates so users can access them directly while completing forms. Instead of attaching the PDF file at the bottom of every form, you can host the file and add a hyperlink inside a pre-filled text field. This keeps your form cleaner and can help optimise performance while still giving users access to essential reference documents.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Any Dashpivot Web plan

  • Permission: Permission to edit templates in the relevant folder

  • Skills Required: Dashpivot

  • Device Type: computer

  • Subscription: Dashpivot Web

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the Template Editor for the template you want to modify.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Template Editor and select Add PDF under Template Attachments.

  3. Upload the PDF file you want to link.

  4. Once the file is uploaded, click the file name above the attachment list to open it in a new browser tab.

  5. Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

  6. In your template, add or edit a Pre-Filled Text field where you want the hyperlink to appear.

  7. Paste the copied URL into the Pre-Filled Text field, and format it as a hyperlink if needed.

  8. Remove the original attached PDF from the bottom of the Template Editor to avoid duplication.

  9. Save your template changes.

Notes

  • Uploaded PDF attachments can increase form load times and exported file sizes, especially if the PDFs are large.

  • Using a hyperlink means the PDF stays hosted and does not need to be downloaded with every form, which can improve performance.

  • Users who open the hyperlink will access the PDF in a new tab.
