When creating a Sitemate Link, you may see warnings after the link is successfully created. These warnings indicate that certain fields in your template will not function in the Sitemate app. This article explains why this happens and how to resolve it.
What’s happening (Core Section)
After creating a Sitemate Link, a message appears outlining warnings such as:
Workflow Template Detected
Sitemate Scan ID Field Detected
Person Field Detected
Although the link is created successfully, some fields in the linked template will appear disabled for users completing the form via the Sitemate app.
The form can still be submitted, but specific fields will not be usable.
Why this happens
These warnings appear when the template used in the Sitemate Link includes field types or configurations that are not supported in Sitemate app submissions.
1. Workflow Templates
If the template is set up as a workflow:
Users can only complete fields above the first approval signature in the Sitemate app.
Fields below the first approval signature will be visible but cannot be filled out.
Those fields can later be completed in Dashpivot.
2. Scan Sitemate ID Fields
If the template contains a Scan Sitemate ID field:
This field cannot be used in forms submitted via the Sitemate app.
It will appear disabled.
The rest of the form can still be completed.
3. Person Fields
If the template contains a Person field:
This field cannot be used in forms submitted via the Sitemate app.
It will appear disabled.
The rest of the form can still be completed.
How to fix it

Confirm you are editing and publishing the correct template version.
Ensure the updated template has been applied to the Sitemate Link.
Create a test link using a simple template (no workflows, Scan ID fields, or Person fields) to isolate the issue.
