How to Record a Storm Demo with Audio (Mac, iPhone & Android)

When recording pre-recorded demos for prospects or customers, use your device's built-in screen recorder rather than third-party tools. This ensures your microphone audio is captured when you're speaking to Storm — which other recording tools can cut out.

💻 MacBook

  1. Press Command + Shift + 5 to open the screen recording toolbar.

  2. Click Options and make sure Microphone is set to MacBook Air (or your device) — not "None".

  3. Select your recording area and start recording.

  4. When done, press Command + Shift + 5 again and click Stop Recording.

📱 iPhone

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Centre.

  2. Long-press the Record button.

  3. Make sure Microphone is toggled ON before starting.

  4. Tap Start Recording.

  5. When done, swipe down and tap the red recording indicator to stop.

Android

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel (swipe twice if needed).

  2. Tap Screen Recorder (tap the pencil/edit icon to add it if it's not visible).

  3. When prompted, set Sound to Microphone to capture your voice.

  4. Tap Start — recording begins after a 3-second countdown.

  5. When done, pull down the notification shade and tap Stop on the Screen Recorder notification.

Note: Steps may vary slightly depending on your device manufacturer (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.).

Sharing Your Recording

Once you've finished recording, upload it to a video sharing platform (e.g. Loom, Vimeo) or share directly via your preferred file sharing tool.

Notes

  • This tip is especially useful for CS and Sales teams delivering ultra-tailored Storm demos.

  • Android steps are based on standard Android — if your device differs, check your manufacturer's settings.
