Account Templates are added to a workspace from inside the workspace by an Org Controller. This article walks through the pull flow, what happens afterwards, and how updates from the Account Layer reach the workspace.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log in to Dashpivot Web as an Org Controller.
Open the workspace you want to add the template into.
From the workspace home level, open the workspace Template Library.
Click the Pull from account library option (the entry point alongside the existing "Add Template" options).
A modal opens listing every Account Template available in this Sitemate Start account. For each template you'll see:
Template name
Template created date
Template version
Template ID
Select one or more Account Templates.
Click Pull.
The selected Account Templates are added to your workspace and appear in your workspace Template Library with a Sitemate Start badge. Once the template is in the workspace you can then deploy it to teams within that workspace
What the Sitemate Start badge means
A template with a Sitemate Start badge is a workspace copy of an Account Template. It tracks the source at the Account Layer:
Edits made at the Account Layer flow down automatically — no action is needed in the workspace.
The template structure is locked at the workspace level. Workspace users can create forms from it as normal, but cannot modify fields, sections or formulas.
The workspace's own logo and folder paths are applied when the template is deployed to team folders — see How to deploy a template on Dashpivot Web.
Pulling multiple templates at once
You can pull several Account Templates in one go:
Open the Pull from account library modal as above.
Select all the Account Templates you want to pull.
Click Add Templates.
Each selected template is added to the workspace Template Library.
How updates reach the workspace
When the Account Admin edits an Account Template and saves at the Account Layer, the update is pushed automatically to every workspace that has pulled it.
You do not need to re-pull the template.
The version number on the templates inside the workspace should match the version number of the parent template at the Account Layer.
Existing forms keep their original structure — see How to create and edit an Account Template.
New forms created after the update will use the new template structure.
Notes / Tips
Pulling an Account Template into a workspace is done by an Org Controller in that workspace. Account Admin access at the layer is required to create the template, not to pull it.
Pulling does not duplicate. If a workspace already has this Account Template, the modal will show it as already pulled. Updates to the templates will flow automatically.
Cross-account boundary is enforced. You can only pull Account Templates that belong to the same Sitemate Start account as your workspace. Templates from other accounts will not appear in the modal.
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to check |
I don't see "Pull from account library" in the Template Library | Confirm you are an Org Controller in this workspace, that you are at the workspace home level (not inside a project or team folder), and that the workspace is part of a Sitemate Start account with Account Layer enabled. |
The Pull from account library modal is empty | No Account Templates have been created yet — ask an Account Admin to create one at the Account Layer. |
An Account Template I expected isn't in the modal | Confirm the Account Template belongs to this Sitemate Start account. Templates from other accounts will not appear. Also check whether the template has been archived at the Account Layer. |
I pulled a template but it didn't appear in the workspace Template Library | Refresh the page. The template should appear with the Sitemate Start badge. |
Workspace users say the template can't be edited in the workspace | Expected — Account Templates are locked from structural editing at the workspace level. Edits must be made at the Account Layer by an Account Admin. |
