How to Integrate Dashpivot Site Diary with Power BI using Flowsite

Learn how to integrate Dashpivot Site Diary templates with Power BI using Flowsite to create live Project Progress Reports and dashboards

Written by Nina Yang

Production or Progress Tracking is the process of monitoring how work packages are progressing against planned schedules and project requirements. By tracking completed works, labour hours, materials, and daily site activities, teams can quickly identify completed tasks, ongoing work, delays, and productivity issues. This helps projects stay on schedule while improving visibility and decision-making across teams.

Using Flowsite, data from existing Dashpivot Site Diary templates can be automatically transferred and consolidated into Power BI dashboards for live project tracking and reporting.

Benefits of integrating Dashpivot Site Diary with Power BI

  • Automated data flow – Automatically transfer Site Diary data into Power BI using Flowsite.

  • Live dashboards – Monitor project progress, completed works, and productivity in real time.

  • Improved decision-making – Access up-to-date project insights across sites and teams.

  • Streamlined reporting – Simplify reporting for supervisors, project managers, and stakeholders.

  • Reduced administration – Reduce manual reporting and improve consistency across progress records.

Project Progress Report

A Project Progress Report is a structured summary that provides an up-to-date overview of project performance against planned schedules and scope. It highlights completed works, ongoing activities, delays, risks, and resource usage over a selected reporting period.

This helps project managers, clients, and stakeholders monitor progress, identify issues early, and make informed decisions to keep projects on track.

Example Integration Workflow

Dashpivot Site Diary templates can be connected to Flowsite to automatically transfer project activity data into Power BI dashboards.

The integration workflow may include:

  • Works / Activities recorded in Site Diaries

  • Accomplished Quantities captured on-site

  • Planned Quantities from Excel or planning files

  • KPI calculations in Power BI

  • Progress Dashboards for live project reporting

Features of Project Progress Reporting

  1. Dynamic Dashboards

Create interactive Power BI dashboards that automatically update using Flowsite integrations.

  2. Flexible Filtering

    Customise displayed data based on:

    • Date

    • Project

    • Location

Dashboard totals and visuals automatically update based on selected filters.

  3. Historical Reporting

Use graphs and visual dashboards to monitor historical project progress, productivity, and completed works over time.

Note: Activity names are case-sensitive in reporting workflows. Standardised activity lists are recommended to improve filtering and dashboard grouping accuracy.
