How to Integrate Dashpivot Inspection Tracking with Power BI using Flowsite

Learn how to integrate your existing Dashpivot Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Inspection Checklist (ITC) templates with Power BI using Sitemate’s Flowsite

Written by Nina Yang

Flowsite automatically transfers and consolidates inspection data from multiple Dashpivot templates into Power BI, helping teams monitor inspection status, hold points, durations, and compliance performance in real time.

Inspection Tracking involves recording and monitoring inspection activities such as quality control checks, hold points, compliance inspections, and audits across different stages of a project or operation. By connecting existing Dashpivot inspection templates to Power BI through Flowsite, organisations can centralise inspection records, improve visibility, and streamline reporting workflows.

Benefits of integrating Dashpivot Inspection Tracking with Power BI

  • Automated data entry – Automatically transfer inspection records from Dashpivot into Power BI using Flowsite to reduce manual administration and minimise errors.

  • Scheduled updates – Keep inspection dashboards updated hourly or daily through automated Flowsite syncs.

  • Custom reporting – Easily filter, summarise, and analyse inspection data across projects and work areas.

  • Trend monitoring – Identify recurring issues, delayed inspections, and performance trends.

  • Better accountability – Record inspection outcomes, responsible inspectors, and actions taken.

  • Faster decision-making – Access real-time inspection insights to support timely project responses.

  • Audit-ready records – Maintain organised and traceable inspection documentation for compliance and quality assurance.

Features of ITP / ITC Tracking

Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Checklists (ITCs) are structured Dashpivot templates used to verify that inspection and testing activities have been completed according to project quality requirements. These templates capture inspection outcomes, sign-offs, hold points, approvals, and supporting evidence throughout the project lifecycle.

Using Flowsite, data from multiple Dashpivot templates such as ITP 1 and ITP 2 can be automatically consolidated into Power BI dashboards for centralised inspection reporting and tracking.

1. Consolidated Hold Points

  • Combine hold point data from multiple Dashpivot ITP templates into one central

  • Power BI dashboard to monitor inspection progress across projects and trades.

2. ITP Status Tracking

Track and display:

  • Inspection status

  • Approved and rejected inspections

  • Outstanding inspections

  • Inspection completion progress

  • Inspection trends over time

3. Duration Calculations

  • Automatically calculate inspection durations and turnaround times to help identify delays and improve quality workflows.

4. ITP Links and Attachments

Provide direct access to:

  • Original ITP records

  • Inspection attachments

  • Photos and supporting documentation

This improves traceability and simplifies inspection reviews.

5. Filter by Custom Values

Filter inspection data by:

  • Work activity

  • Location

  • Status

  • Date range

  • Inspector

  • Hold point type

This helps project teams focus on unresolved issues, specific trades, or quality requirements.

Note: If manual adjustments or additional reporting inputs are required, connect an Excel file to Power BI to support supplementary data management.
