Exporting your Asset Register from Gearbelt can be useful when you need to:
Share records with stakeholders who don’t have Gearbelt access (e.g. contractors, auditors, clients)
Back up your data for offline storage or compliance requirements
Review or filter asset data in bulk using tools like Excel or Google Sheets
Use asset data in other systems (e.g. import into BI dashboards, maintenance planning tools, or reporting templates)
Print or display a physical copy for on-site teams or workshops
Whether you're preparing for an inspection, cross-checking asset details, or simply archiving your records - exporting gives you more flexibility in how you manage and use your data.
To export your asset register, follow these steps:
1. Access the 'Assets' section
2. Select the relevant assets you'd like to export. If you'd like to bulk select all assets, tick the checkbox next to the Asset column header
3. Click 'Download' to generate the export
4. You'll then get an Excel file including your list of assets as it appears in the register, all asset types and asset categories recorded on your workspace
