What are the different types of signatures in Dashpivot?

Learn the different types of signature fields available in Dashpivot and how to use them in your templates

Written by Adriana De Souza

Dashpivot includes four signature field types in the Template Editor, each designed for different use cases.

Default Signature

Labelled “Signature” in the Template Editor.

  • Can be used by Dashpivot users (Contributors and Visitors) and Sitemate users.

  • Records the user’s full name, saved signature, date, and time when they click Sign.

Best for standard internal sign-offs where users have a profile.

Manual Signature

Labelled “Manual Signature” in the Template Editor.

  • Can be used by anyone, even without a Dashpivot or Sitemate profile.

  • Requires the signer to manually enter their full name, company name, and signature.

Best for external stakeholders or on-site visitors.

Approval Signature

Labelled “Approval Signature” in the Template Editor.

  • Only available in Workflow templates.

  • Moves a form from one workflow column to the next.

  • Locks all fields above the signature once approved.

To edit locked fields, the approval signature must be removed, which moves the form back to the previous workflow column.

You can also apply conditional logic to control who can approve specific sections.

Scan Sitemate ID Signature

Labelled “Scan Sitemate ID” in the Template Editor.

  • Allows users to scan Sitemate IDs directly onto a form.

  • Automatically captures full name, company name, signature, date, time, and GPS location.

Ideal for use cases like toolbox talks, pre-starts, and site attendance tracking where fast, contactless sign-on is required.
