Dashpivot templates can be either Workflow (for staged/approved processes) or Timeline (for chronological logs). Sometimes you may want to switch an existing template from one type to the other.
Direct Answer
No, not directly. Dashpivot does not currently support switching the template type between Workflow and Timeline within the same template.
Step-by-Step Instructions / How It Works (Workaround)
To “change” the type, you need to clone the template into a new one with the desired type:
Open Dashpivot Web and go to the folder where the original template lives (Home or Team folder).
Open the Templates tab and select the original template.
Click Edit Template, then Show Raw Code in the template editor and copy all the text.
Close the editor, then click Add Template.
Choose Build Your Own, fill in the new template details, and on the next screen select the desired template type (Workflow or Timeline).
In the new editor, click Show Raw Code, delete any placeholder code, then paste in the raw code you copied.
Click Hide Raw Code to see the fields, then Save the new template.
Limitations or Alternatives
This method creates a separate template rather than changing the type of the original.
Any forms created from the old template won’t automatically become the new type — you’d need to redeploy the new template and possibly recreate or migrate form data manually.
