Yes / No fields on Dashpivot Web templates allow form users to respond to questions using a simple binary choice. These fields are commonly used for compliance checks, confirmations, or quick responses. When editing templates, you can add Yes / No fields, update their labels, adjust their behaviour, and set default values to suit your form structure.

Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:

Permission: Permission to edit templates in the relevant folder

Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the template you want to edit in the Template Editor.
Locate the Yes / No field in the field list.
Drag one of the following Yes / No field types into the template:
Yes / No – Provides a choice between Yes or No.
Yes / No / NA – Provides Yes, No, or NA options.
Yes / No with Text – Provides Yes or No options with an attached text field for additional comments.
Yes / No / NA with Text – Provides Yes, No, or NA options with an attached text field for additional comments.
Hover over the field icon to access additional field options if needed.
Setting Default Values
🧪 Open Beta: Default Values for Yes / No fields is now in Open Beta and live for all workspaces.
Template authors can pre-select a default answer on a Yes / No field using the Default Values tab. This lets you define whether Yes, No, or NA is the starting value for that field in any form created from the template.
To set a default value:
In the Template Editor, hover over the Yes / No field and open the field settings.
Click the Default Values tab.
Select Yes, No, or NA as the default selection for the field.
Click Save using the green button in the top right corner of the screen.
When a form creator creates a new form from the template, they are prompted to choose whether to apply the configured defaults. They can accept or skip the defaults at the time of form creation.
Note: If a default value is set and conditional logic rules are linked to that default answer, those rules will fire immediately when the form loads — before the user makes any manual selection. Conditional fields linked to the default can therefore appear automatically when a form is first opened.
