How to edit and use Text Fields in Dashpivot Web templates

Learn how to add and adjust text fields on Dashpivot Web when editing templates

Written by Adriana De Souza

Text Fields in Dashpivot Web templates are used to capture written input from form users or display preset written content that cannot be changed. These fields help structure information clearly within forms and support different use cases, including short responses, longer written entries, and fixed instructional content. This applies to template editing on Dashpivot Web.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Standard (or higher)

  • Permission: Permission to edit templates in the relevant folder

  • Skills Required: Dashpivot

  • Device Type: Computer

  • Subscription: Dashpivot

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the relevant template in the Template Editor.

  2. Locate the available Text field options in the field list.

  3. Select the type of text field you want to use:

    • Single Line Text – Allows one line of written input and supports hyperlinks.

    • Multi Line Text – Allows written input across multiple lines for longer responses.

    • Prefilled Text – Displays preset written content that cannot be edited by form users.

  4. Click into the field label to update the label text if required.

  5. If using Prefilled Text, apply formatting using the toolbar as needed — including headings, bold text, italic text, underline, lists, and hyperlinks.

💡 To add a static reference image (an image that displays in the form but cannot be changed by form users), use one of the following methods:

    • Upload from your computer – Click the photo icon in the Prefilled Text toolbar, then select an image file from your device.

    • Copy and paste – Copy an image and paste it directly into the Prefilled Text field.
