How to set up conditional logic in Yes / No questions on Dashpivot Web

Learn how to set up conditional logic on Yes/No and List fields in Dashpivot Web. Step-by-step instructions for showing or hiding fields based on user input in form templates.

Written by Nina Yang

Conditional logic in Dashpivot helps you streamline form templates by only displaying additional fields when specific conditions are met. This keeps forms shorter and quicker to complete, while still allowing them to expand when extra information is required.

For an overview of what conditional logic is and when to use it, see What is Conditional Logic in Dashpivot?

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Plan: Standard or higher

  • Permission: Edit templates

  • Device: Computer

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Select a template and click Edit Template.

  2. Drag a Yes / No field or a List field into the template.

  3. Hover over the Yes / No or List field and click Add logic.

  4. Set the condition for the rule by selecting which option from the Yes / No or List field will trigger the logic.

  5. Drag and drop the relevant field or fields to display under each condition.

  6. Click Save using the green button in the top right corner of the screen.

Once saved, open or create a new form from that template to verify the logic is working — the conditional fields should only appear when the trigger condition is met.

Note: Conditional logic operates on a single layer. Fields revealed by a logic rule cannot themselves trigger additional logic rules.
