Your browser saves temporary files (called a cache) to make pages load faster. Sometimes these files become outdated, which can cause pages to display old content, buttons not working, or other unexpected issues when using Sitemate/Dashpivot. Clearing your browser’s cache forces the browser to fetch the newest files from the server.

What’s happening

When you visit a website, your browser stores parts of the site (like images, scripts, and styles) locally on your device. If those cached files are outdated but still in use, you might see old content or encounter errors even if the site has been updated. Clearing the cache and cookies removes these stored files so the browser fetches fresh data.

Why this happens

Common causes:

  • A site update was deployed, but your browser still uses old cached files.

  • Cached files have become corrupted or inconsistent with current web content.

  • Browser data is interfering with how pages load (e.g., missing buttons or formatting issues).
