Setting up a dropdown list in a template on Dashpivot Web lets you control and standardise the options users can select when filling out forms. You can create dropdown lists either by manually typing the items directly in the template builder or by linking to a pre-defined list created in the Lists section.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: All Plan Types
Permission:
Home Folder β Organisation Member (or higher)
Team Folder β Team Member (or higher)
Skills Required: Dashpivot
Device Type: Computer
Subscription: Dashpivot
Step-by-Step Instructions
Option 1: Manually Typed Dropdown
Open the template you want to edit in the Template Editor.
Add a Dropdown List field.
Select the Manually Typed option.
Enter the list items you want to appear in the dropdown.
Repeat to add additional items as needed.
Option 2: Linked to a List
In Dashpivot Web, go to Home Folder.
Go to List Library.
Click the green + button to add a new list.
Enter a name for your list and press Enter.
With the list selected, populate the Items column with all dropdown options (you can upload a CSV if needed in the Upload CSV)
Go back to the Template Editor and add a Dropdown List field.
Select Link to a List.
Choose the list you created.
Save the template.
Notes
Templates in the (Home) folder can only link to lists in the workspace list library.
Templates in a team folder can only link to lists in the corresponding project folder.
Updating a linked list will automatically update dropdown options in all templates that reference it.
