The Repeating Group field lets you put a set of fields together in your template so they can be repeated when filling in the form. You set it up once — then anyone filling in the form can add as many entries as they need.
For example, if you're inspecting a building with multiple rooms, you can create a group called "Room" with fields for name, condition, and photos. When filling in the form, you tap "+ Add Room" for each room you need to inspect.

Setting up a repeating group in your template
As a template editor, here's how to add a repeating group:
Open the template you want to edit in the Template Editor.
In the left panel, scroll to the Sections category.
Drag the Repeating Group field onto your template.
Configure the group's label and name:
Group title — Enter a clear label that describes what each entry represents overall (e.g., "Room", "Control Room", "Test Sample"). This is the overarching heading displayed for the field on the form.
Group name — Enter a default name for each individual repeating instance (e.g. "Room"). This field is optional — you can leave it blank. If left blank, the add-entry button on the form defaults to showing "+ Add Group".
Drag the fields you want repeated into the group's drop zone. You can add up to 10 fields per group.
Save your template.
Filling out a repeating group on a form
As a form respondent, here's how repeating groups work when you're filling in a form:
Open a form that contains a repeating group.
Fill in the fields in the first group.
Tap "+ Add [Group Name]" (or "+ Add Group" if no group name has been set) to add another entry with the same set of fields.
Keep adding entries as needed — up to 30 groups per field.
To remove an entry, tap the delete icon on that group.
Use the collapse/expand toggle to keep long forms organised.
📓 Note: Groups are collapsed by default when a form opens, and collapse again when a new entry is added — this keeps long forms manageable. You can expand multiple groups at the same time.

📓 Note: On Dashpivot Mobile, the entry limit is currently 10 per group. Web supports up to 30.
Important considerations
Keep groups focused. Fewer fields per group means a smoother experience, especially when adding many entries.
Removing an entry deletes its data. If you remove a repeating group entry from a form, the data in that entry is permanently deleted.
Repeating Group fields lock after an approval is signed. If a Repeating Group field is placed before an approval signature in a workflow template, it becomes locked and non-editable once that approval signature is applied. This is consistent with how all other fields before an approval signature behave in Dashpivot.
Not yet supported — coming in future releases: tables inside repeating groups, required fields, and formula fields.
Trial users cannot access Repeating Groups. The Repeating Group field is not visible or available in the template editor on a trial workspace. A paid Dashpivot plan is required.

Can I put a repeating group inside another repeating group?
No. Repeating groups cannot be nested.
How many entries can I add on a form?
Up to 30 entries per repeating group on Dashpivot Web. On Dashpivot Mobile, the current limit is 10 entries per group.
How many fields can I put in a repeating group field via the template editor?
Up to 10 fields.
What is the difference between the group title and the group name?
The group title is the overarching label for the repeating group field — it's the heading respondents see for the entire field on the form. The group name is a dedicated name that sets the default label on each individual repeating instance a respondent adds. For example, a group title of "Rooms" with a group name of "Room" would produce entries labelled "Room 1", "Room 2", and so on as respondents add them. The group name is optional — if left blank, the add-entry button defaults to showing "+ Add Group" instead of a custom name.
Why can’t I see the Repeating Group field in my template editor?
There are two common reasons:
You’re on a trial workspace. The Repeating Group field is not available to trial users. You’ll need to upgrade to a paid Dashpivot plan to access it.
You don’t have Template Editor permission. Only users with Template Editor access can add fields in the template editor.
What happens to repeating group fields in a workflow template after an approval is signed?
Repeating Group fields placed before an approval signature become locked and cannot be edited once that approval is applied. To make changes, the approval signature would need to be removed first. This applies only to fields positioned before the approval signature in the template.
