The Relationship field lets you link related forms together. For example, raising an NCR from an inspection, or creating lot records under a single ITP, keeping related work visible and traceable in one place.

The number of unique templates you can link to from a single template depends on your plan. You can add more than one Relationship field to a template, but the limit counts unique linked templates.

For example, on Standard (up to 1) a template could have three Relationship fields, as long as they only point to the same template.
If your template already links to the maximum number of templates allowed on your plan, a warning is shown in the template editor. To add a link to a new template, remove a Relationship field that points to a template you're not linking to elsewhere, or upgrade your plan.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Add a Relationship Field to Your Template
Open the template you want to add form linking to in the template editor.
Add a Relationship field to the template.
Choose which template the linked forms should be created from
Save your template changes.
Step 2: Open or Create a Form
Navigate to your Team Folder.
Create a new form built from a template that includes a Relationship field.
Step 3: Link a Form
In the Relationship field, click the Link Form button. A dropdown appears with two options:
Create new — a new form is created from the linked template. Fill it out and save it.
Link existing — opens a form selector showing all forms from the linked template.
If you selected Link existing:
a. Browse the form selector — columns reflect the child template's thumbnail fields, the same information shown in the register view.
b. Use the filter to narrow down the list if needed.
c. Tick as many forms as you need — you can select multiple at once and link them all in one go.
d. To link forms that have already been archived, select the Archived tab.
e. Confirm your selection to link the forms.The linked form(s) are now connected to the form you started from. Once linked, they behave exactly like any form created from the parent.

Step 4: Review Your Linked Forms
Linked forms appear within the Relationship field on the original form. You can open any linked form to view or continue editing it.
On Dashpivot Mobile, linked forms appear as cards within the Relationship field. The cards update live and support offline viewing.
To create a linked form on mobile:
Open a form that includes a Relationship field.
Tap Add Form in the Relationship field.
A new linked form opens — fill it out and save it.
The linked form automatically connects back to the parent form on save.
To remove a linked form on mobile:
Tap the unlink button on the linked form card.
To view linked forms on a signed form:
Open the signed form and scroll to the Relationship field — linked forms are visible as cards even after the parent form is signed.
Notes
Dashpivot only: The Relationship field is available on Dashpivot Web and Dashpivot Mobile. On Sitemate Mobile it is not supported and will show as "Field not available."
Forms with a Relationship field cannot be moved: If a form was created from a template that includes a Relationship field, it cannot currently be moved between team folders.
Link existing forms — web only: Linking existing forms is currently available on Dashpivot Web only. Mobile support is coming soon.

Q: Can I use a Relationship field inside a conditional logic branch?
Yes. You can place a Relationship field inside a conditional logic branch. It will appear in the position you set in the template editor.
Q: Can I export a form together with all its linked forms?
A: Not yet. Exporting a form together with its linked forms isn't supported currently. Linked forms are shown in a table with their form thumbnail data in the exported form.
Q: Can I link forms in a table?
A: Not yet. Form linking inside table cells is on our radar and will be available in the future.
Q: Can I stop a form being signed off until its linked forms are complete?
A: Not yet. Requiring linked forms to be completed before the original form can be signed off is future functionality we're planning through approval signature logic.
