The Email Subject Line Editor in Dashpivot Web allows you to configure the subject line of workflow notification emails. Instead of using a standard subject line, you can create clear, actionable subject lines using form metadata and pre-filled text. This helps recipients quickly understand what requires action and improves visibility in busy inboxes.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: Standard, Pro, Premium, or Platinum
Permission: Org Controller, Project Admin
Device Type: Computer/browser
Subscription: Dashpivot
Step-by-Step Instructions
Create or open an existing Workflow Template.
Go to Settings → Workflow Settings.
Select Edit subject line to open the editor.
Use the menu to add tags, such as Form Name, Column Name, or pre-filled text.
Drag and drop tags to rearrange them as needed.
Change your case and spacing settings for your email subject line as needed by using the dropdowns.
Save your changes.
Once saved, all workflow notifications related to this template will use your configured subject line.
You can add up to 8 fields to your subject line structure, depending on your plan. Available options include form metadata (such as Form Name, Column Name, and Template ID), pre-filled text (up to 80 characters) and template fields.
Template Fields
Template Fields are dynamic placeholders that pull in data submitted through your form and display it directly in the email subject line. This lets recipients quickly preview key details—without opening the email, so they can assess urgency and set their response priority.
For example, if your template includes a List field named “Priority” and a user selects “High Priority” when submitting the form, you can configure the subject line to automatically include that value. This results in an email subject that signals importance at a glance.
Plan Limits
All plans can include up to 8 fields in their email subject line. Metadata fields are not limited, but Prefilled Text and Template fields are limited depending on your plan type. These field types are referred to as “Custom Fields,” and your limit appears on the right side of the modal.
Standard: Maximum 2 Custom fields
Pro: Maximum 4 Custom fields
Premium: Maximum 6 Custom fields
Platinum: Maximum 8 Custom fields
