The Dashpivot Mobile App includes a GPS Status Indicator to help users capture more accurate, location-tagged photos in the field. This feature improves visibility over whether a photo has a verified location — especially useful for audits, compliance, and traceability.
Prerequisites
Before you begin make sure you have the following:
Plan: All Plan Types
Permission: Team Member (or higher)
Skills Required: App Navigation
Device Type: Mobile device
Subscription: Dashpivot
Step-by-Step Instructions
When you open the photo capture screen in the Dashpivot Mobile App, you will see a small GPS icon at the top of the screen. This icon provides real-time feedback on your device’s GPS status:
Solid icon: GPS location is locked and ready
Flashing icon: The app is still searching for a GPS fix
Crossed-out icon: GPS is unavailable (location permissions may be disabled)
Tapping the icon displays detailed GPS data, including:
Open the Dashpivot Mobile App and tap the Camera icon in the bottom right corner.
Check the GPS icon at the top of the screen.
If the icon is flashing, wait for the GPS to lock in (recommended for higher accuracy).
Tap the GPS icon to verify your location and accuracy.
Capture the photo.
Tap Save to upload the photo.
Tips for better accuracy
Wait for the GPS to lock in (solid icon) before taking the photo.
Ensure Dashpivot has location permissions enabled in your phone’s settings.
Move outside or near a window if the app cannot find your GPS, as some buildings may block signal.
Tap the GPS icon to check accuracy before capturing, especially if location data is critical for reporting.
