When setting up a flow in Flowsite, a username and password are generated. The password is only shown once. If it is lost, you can re-generate a new one directly from the flow.
What’s happening
You need access to the password for an existing Excel or Power BI flow, but it is no longer visible after initial setup.
Why this happens
For security reasons, the password is only displayed once when the flow is first created. It cannot be viewed again later.
How to fix it
Regenerate the flow password
1. Access the relevant flow on your Flowsite workspace.
2. Navigate to the second step on the flow editor.
Create Excel hosted source or
Create Power BI hosted source
3. Under General → Destination, select Regenerate in the Password section.
4. Copy the newly generated password from the Password field.
5. Click Done.
If the issue continues
Ensure the new password has been copied and stored securely
Re-generate again if needed
Important
After re-generating the password, update the Excel or Power BI connector with the new login details
Any other users accessing the same file must also update their credentials
