When you take photos using the Dashpivot app, you can immediately add visual annotations — like circles, lines, arrows, or freehand marks — using your finger. This makes it easy to highlight and explain key details directly on the image, alongside other photo data such as tags, descriptions, timestamps, and location.

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Dashpivot

  • Mobile device (phone or tablet)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Capture your photo(s).
Take the photo(s) you want to markup using the Dashpivot camera or your device’s native camera via the app.

  2. Proceed to the photo review screen.
After taking the photo(s), tap Next to go to the review screen where photos are shown before upload.

  3. Open the markup editor.
On the photo thumbnail you want to annotate, tap the pencil icon to enter markup mode.

  4. Draw/annotate the photo.
Use your finger to draw, highlight, or mark up the image.

  5. Save your changes.
When finished annotating, tap Done to save your markup.

Rules

  • Markups must be completed before upload: You cannot change or add markup after the photo has been uploaded.

  • Only photos can be marked up: Videos cannot be annotated with drawings or markup.

  • Works with any photo source: Both photos taken through the Dashpivot camera and those taken with the native camera can be marked up.
