If your Dashpivot mobile app or its templates aren’t reflecting the latest changes, this guide shows how to force-refresh the data using the Download Changes option and other settings.

What’s happening

Users expect the Dashpivot app and templates to automatically update with the latest published changes, but sometimes updates don’t appear on the device. This means your forms, templates or settings may be out of date and not showing the most recent edits.

Why this happens

Dashpivot relies on device connectivity and local settings to sync changes. If the app can’t automatically fetch updates due to connectivity or device restrictions, it won’t reflect the latest templates or data. Common causes include:

  • Poor or intermittent Wi-Fi/mobile network connection.

  • Auto-update permissions disabled on your device (prevents background updates).

  • Local cache or offline form data not refreshing.

How to fix it

Try these steps in order — from quickest fix to most thorough:

  1. Check network connectivity

    • Ensure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or has strong mobile data and stays connected long enough for updates to download.

  2. Enable auto-updates on your device

    • iPhone/iPad:

      • Go to Settings > [your device settings] > Dashpivot app and enable Mobile Data.

      • Also check Settings > Mobile Data, scroll and enable for Dashpivot.

    • Android:

      • In Settings > Apps > Dashpivot, make sure mobile data is allowed.

      • Optionally enable Smart Network Switch / Adaptive Connectivity to maintain stable updates.

  3. Use “Download Changes” (Force Refresh)

    • Open the Dashpivot app.

    • Tap the menu in the top right (your initials).

    • Select Download Changes to immediately fetch the newest templates and data without logging out.

  4. Re-start the app (if needed)

    • If “Download Changes” doesn’t appear to work, try closing and reopening the app, then repeat Download Changes.

  5. Start a new form

    • Template changes only apply to new forms. If you need updates on an existing form, clone the form so the latest template is used.
