Storm's AI Templates feature generates structured, editable Dashpivot templates from a text prompt. Select a generator type, describe the template you need, and Storm builds it — including fields, sections, tables, and workflow logic — ready for review and deployment.
This article covers the full list of supported generator types, organised by workflow category.
How to Access the Generate Feature
Navigate to Templates → Add Template → Build with AI → Generate.
Select a generator type from the available list, enter your prompt, configure your preferences, and click Build.

Prompt Tips for Better Results
The more context you provide, the more accurately Storm structures the output. Strong prompts include:
The document type and industry context — "SWMS for steel erection on a commercial construction project"
Scale or project specifics — "Pre-pour inspection checklist for a 200m³ suspended concrete slab including formwork, reinforcement, and embedments"
Jurisdiction where relevant — "JSA for confined space entry, US construction"
Key sections or sub-activities — "Toolbox talk template with attendance register, action items, and supervisor sign-off"
Generic prompts produce generic templates. Specific prompts produce templates closer to ready-to-deploy.
Current Limitations
Conditional logic rules and formulas are not automatically generated — these can be added manually in the template editor after generation.
The generator list is being extended. If a document type you need is not listed, use the Import flow to upload an existing document, or describe the template using a closely related generator type with a detailed prompt.
Generated templates should always be reviewed before operational use, particularly for safety, compliance, and approval-heavy workflows.
