If you see a “No Content” message when connecting your Flowsite Flow to Excel or Power BI, the most common reason is that the Flow has not been saved or does not exist yet. Follow the troubleshooting steps accordingly to determine where or how the error occurred, or why the data set did not show up.

Important First Steps

If this is your first time opening the Excel file or Power BI Dashboard, follow these steps before troubleshooting any issues:

  1. Refresh the Query

  2. Navigate to the Data tab > Click Refresh All.

An error message will appear, prompting you to enter Flowsite credentials.

  3. Enter Flowsite Credentials

  4. Go to the Basic tab, select the last option in the dropdown, and enter your Flowsite credentials.

  5. Click Connect to proceed.

Following these steps ensures proper authentication and prevents unnecessary troubleshooting.

Problem

When refreshing your Excel file or Power BI dashboard, the data fails to load and returns a “No Content” error.

Why this happens

This happens when:

  1. The Flow does not exist yet, or

  2. The Flow was created but not saved before connecting the URL and credentials to Excel or Power BI.

An unsaved Flow will not return any data to Power BI or Excel.

How to Fix

Ensure that the Flow is fully saved before connecting it to your integration. When creating a new Flow in Flowsite, always ensure it is saved before connecting the Flowsite URL and credentials to Power BI or Excel.

If the Flow is not saved, an error message will appear stating that "there is no content."

Note: You can verify that the Flow has been successfully saved when the Save button appears greyed out.

Tips:

  • Double-Check the Template URL

  • Ensure that the URL ID copied from Dashpivot corresponds to the correct template and folder (typically the Home Folder).

  • Save Your Credentials

  • After creating your Flow, be sure to save the credentials, as they will not be visible later.

DATA PRIVACY

If prompted to update data privacy settings, simply click Continue. In the Privacy Levels dropdown for the URL, select the last option, and for the type, choose Organizational. (This step can be ignored if not required.)
