Where copy/paste works in Dashpivot

Learn where copy and paste is supported in Dashpivot and how to use it to quickly move data, create folders, and build templates

Written by Nina Yang

Copy and paste is one of the fastest ways to move information into and around Dashpivot.

This article outlines all areas where copy and paste is supported.

📁 Bulk folder creation

You can paste a list of folder names (including nested lists), and Dashpivot will automatically create the full folder structure for you (up to 100 folders).

👉 Great for:

  • Setting up new projects

  • Creating team folder structures

  • Replicating workspace structures

✏️ Template Editor

Prefilled table creation

Paste data directly into Prefilled Tables to speed up template creation for checklists, registers, and structured documents.

Yes/No field creation

Quickly set up yes/no fields by copying and pasting data in bulk from an Excel spreadsheet or document.

✨ Form Tables

Paste into a Default Table

Copy and paste data from external sources into a Default Table. Supported field types include:

  • Text

  • Numbers

  • Time

  • Date

  • Manually typed list fields

Copy a full Default Table

You can copy all cell contents from one Dashpivot Default Table and paste them into another form.

Copy or clear a column

You can copy the contents of any column in a Default or Prefilled Table and paste it into another column — or clear all data from a column in a single click.

👉 Great for:

  • Duplicating column data within or between tables without retyping

  • Clearing a column to start fresh without deleting row by row

How it works:

  • Copy column — click the column header menu and select Copy column content. Use Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) to paste into another column.

  • Clear column — click the column header menu and select Clear column to delete all data in that column at once.

Supported cell types: Number, Text, Prefilled Text, Formula, Date, Time, Yes/No, and List. Other cell types will paste as blank.

Copy row content

You can copy an entire row's content in a Default or Prefilled Table and paste it into another row — without retyping data across columns.

👉 Great for:

  • Transferring row data within a table without having to retype each cell

  • Populating a new row using an existing row as a starting point

How it works

  • Copy row — hover over the row, click the three dots menu on the left-hand side, and select Copy row content.

  • Paste row — hover over the destination row, just Ctrl+V / Cmd+V to paste or right-click on the destination row → Paste
