Dashpivot allows you to bulk create folders by pasting a properly formatted list (for example, from MS Word or Google Docs). Dashpivot reads the structure and indentation of the list to automatically create project and team folders.

Video Walkthrough

Prerequisites

Before you begin make sure you have the following:

  • Permissions: Org Controller or Project Controller

  • Device: Computer or tablet

  • Subscription: Dashpivot

Step-by-Step Instructions

Format Your List

  1. Prepare your folder list in a text editor using a properly formatted hierarchy (bullet points or numbered lists). Dashpivot reads indentations to determine nested structure.

    Option 1 – Indented Bullets

    • Sample Project A

      • Team Project A1

      • Team Project A2

    • Sample Project A

      • Team Project A1

      • Team Project A2

    Option 2 – Numbered Hierarchy

    1. Sample Project A

      1.1 Team Project A1

      1.2 Team Project A2

⚠️ Note: This format will NOT work:

    Sample Project A

    • Team Project A1

    • Team Project A2

Note:

  • The Project folder (Sample Project A) must also be bulleted or numbered, not just the Team folders. Dashpivot reads the structure based on proper list formatting and indentation.

  • Dashpivot reads the structure and indentation of your list, not just the symbols.

  • Make sure to correctly format your list so the structure of your folders are correct.

Bulk Creating Folders

  1. Go to the Home Folder in Dashpivot and click the (+) button.

  2. When you see the "Add Project Folder..." and then paste your formatted lists.

  3. Check the preview to confirm the folder structure. In some cases, a page refresh may be needed for new folders to appear.
